The Paris Shows: Something Fishy
Chloé is expected today to remove the roof from the tent in the Tuileries so the audience doesn’t bake (bring your shades and load up on sunblock). Paris is in the grip of Indian summer — hard to complain about clear skies, but I sometimes I feel I should head out in the mornings with a canteen.
Last night, after Givenchy, I went to dinner at Azzedine Alaia’s — in the kitchen, of course, where he presided over the stove (fish, incredible mashed potatoes). Among the people around the table: Ronnie and Jonathan Newhouse (who is helping to organize a Fashion Night Out in Tokyo on Nov. 5 with lots of designers and chiefs from the various Vogues); Kanye West; Chanel Iman; Marc Newson and his wife, the stylist Charlotte Stockdale; Phil Poynter and his wife, Jessica Diehl, the fashion director of Vanity Fair
